MONASTIC GO-FISH!

Intention: When I first would go to the monestary I thought it was more skillful to not percieve the monastics as individuals, but instead to regard each of them with the same respect regsrdless of their name, background or years as a monk.
I made a deck of cards with the photos of the Monastics, instead of the traditional number and face cards, by taking the images off their website and onto a word document, and printing on cardstock paper and cutting out!
PAPER MACHE MEDITATION HALL!

This was an incredibly fun project! It was intended to be tucked away in our home meditation hall, but it looks so nice we might keep it in the living room to continue inspired conversation!
BUDDHIST FAMILY GAME NIGHT

Buddhist game nights are our most common activity and they are great! In this photo, it shows the tail end of "Buddhist Jeopardy!" where we have used categories including "Pali" "Monks" "Monastery Etiquette" "Chants" "Historical Figures" "Dhamma" and more. The kids choose which category and level of difficulty they want to answer and they get 'tickets" based on correct answers - which they turn in for prizes at the end!
BUDDHRADES

BASICALLY - BUDDHIST CHARADES! We simply took card stock paper and wrote Buddhist terms and concepts on them for people to act out in charades! We created the categories "Dhammapada Chapter", "Pali Word" and "Sanskrit Word" to go with the usual shortcuts in charades! 8 most difficult chapter titles in the Dhp the kids were able to refer to their copy of the Dhammapada but could only make one guess as to which Chapter title was being acted out. Really fun!!
